ADIPEC, the world’s largest energy exhibition and conference, is committed to championing a cleaner, more secure energy future, placing utmost priority on advancing climate action and ensuring that sustainability runs through the entirety of the event, from its own offerings and operations to that of its participants and stakeholders.

As a first major step in its sustainability journey, ADIPEC has become a signatory of the Climate Neutral Now Pledge from the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which encourages and supports governments, organizations and individuals to act now to achieve a climate-neutral world by 2050.

ADIPEC is working to minimize the environmental impact of the event through a robust Carbon Management Plan, including the establishment of a roadmap toward carbon neutrality by estimating the event’s carbon footprint and implementing responsive mitigation strategies.

ADIPEC 2023 partnered with the Emirates Electricity and Water Company (EWEC) to ensure that all energy used within the venue halls was clean, certified through EWEC’s Clean Energy Certificates. Solar energy, battery storage and generators also helped power ADIPEC’s external exhibition tents through a partnership with Aggreko.

Recognizing that its environmental impact goes beyond the physical event, ADIPEC 2023 introduced several initiatives and guidelines for its visitors, exhibitors and participants. Partnering with CHOOOSE, ADIPEC provided its participants with access to a tool through which to input their travel activities, calculate how much carbon they are responsible for emitting and take action to offset their emissions.

In line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ADIPEC 2023 also established an Exhibitor Manual detailing the sustainable methodologies and practices that its more than 2,200 exhibitors are encouraged to follow.

A series of impactful initiatives, including several in conjunction with its venue, the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), were also implemented, including prioritizing the use of recycled material onsite, promoting the reuse of stand-buildout materials and audiovisual equipment.

In line with dmg event’s sustainability strategy, ADIPEC recognising the need for collaborative action and tangible solutions to tackle critical climate and energy challenges and will continue to support global energy progress towards a better energy future for all.
