Young ADIPEC programme


Every year ADIPEC arranges Young ADIPEC programme designed to engage with UAE youths. The programme is held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development Community.

Since its creation back in 2013, the Young ADIPEC programme has received praise and recognition from across the oil and gas industry.  Aimed at High School students aged between 14 – 17 years old, Young ADIPEC is designed to win the hearts and minds of today’s youth and highlight the wealth and diversity of career opportunities in the sector.  Over 700 students from across the UAE have passed through the programme since its inception in 2013 and our aim is to grow this number in 2016 as we prepare to engage and encourage students to explore the best in the industry has to offer.

The programme has the following events, competitions and activities:

  •  Young ADIPEC Outreach programme: Community schools visits and conducting an engineering workshops at the schools pre-ADIPEC
  • Young ADIPEC Photography Competition– the theme being “Lights of the City”: It focuses on the energy consumption by human civilization to light up one city
  • 16 Field trips: Where students will have the opportunity to experience work in the field first hand
  • Ambassadors Programme: The role of YA Ambassador is to raise awareness of the programme to fellow students and develop organic growth about what the oil and gas industry offers.
  • Experience Zones: This is an experiential edutainment exhibition area that aims to let students meet the industry in a fun and interactive way. There will be an HSE zone, Engineering zone, Virtual Reality game zone, Photography Competition zone, Video diary zone and the Petroleum Institute zone
  • Young ADIPEC Forum: An annual forum to build an ambitious youth and to become young professionals.

The Young ADIPEC programme will host 400 students from Abu Dhabi and the west region schools.
