Middle East’s biggest infrastructure event to boost business opportunities at the Dubai World Trade Centre from November 21 to 24, 2016
US$ 2 trillion is the total value of planned projects in the GCC, according to a recent Deloitte report. Along with numerous megaprojects across the region, global events like Dubai Expo 2020 and Qatar FIFA 2022 World Cup are boosting the local infrastructure development leading to an increased demand for concrete and related products, plant machinery and vehicles.
Middle East’s biggest infrastructure and construction machinery event, Middle East Concrete (MEC), and PMV Live (PMV), will gather major regional and international construction industry players under one roof at the Dubai World Trade Centre from November 21 - 24 2016, to capitalize on this growing business. Gulf Governments’ growing focus on economic diversification is translating into a renewed impetus of the construction sector, accounting for 52% of the US$ 2 trillion projects in the pipeline, followed by transport (19%) and power (11%).
Organized by dmg events Middle East, Asia & Africa, and co-located with The Big 5 Dubai, Middle East Concrete and PMV Live will build on a successful 2015 edition, which saw the participation of 32,792 visitors from 134 countries, over 400 exhibiting companies and more than 200 media attendees. This year, the event is set to be even bigger: a new floor plan taking advantage of the newly constructed modern Za’abeel Halls 4, 5 & 6, with more indoor and outdoor space, will provide attendees a unique opportunity to network, learn about latest industry trends and innovations, and boost their business.
Last year, exhibiting companies closed deals worth approximately US$3 million during the show days. “This figure is tangible proof of the event’s effectiveness in facilitating access to huge market opportunities, while being a strategic and unmissable platform for the construction industry throughout the region” said Nathan Waugh, Portfolio Director of the Construction Division at DMG Events. According to a MEED forecast, contract awards for this current year is at US$140 billion, with the UAE and Saudi Arabia continuing to lead the market.
