API use case

We are applying to access the LinkedIn Connections API to integrate into our Event registration process. At the point of registration (hosted on multiple event websites), a prospective registrant will be given the option to register either socially or via email. If LinkedIn is selected as the preferred platform the API will call up contact information from the member public profile. After the registrant has completed the registration form they will be given the opportunity to either share on their LinkedIn page or via InMail. Based on a keyword algorithm our system will identify up to 6 LinkedIn members that we would recommend the registrant to invite via InMail. Furthermore, the registrant or prospective registrant can see via a visual display the LinkedIn profile photos of those people who have registered to attend the event - provided they have opted-in to display their photo and logged into the LinkedIn platform.

The widget will appear on the first page of the registration form and the confirmation page after the registration has been submitted. The first page will include the photo display. The last page will include the option to share on their wall or via InMail.
